DeMeco Ryans Provides Concerning Update On C.J. Stroud

C.J. Stroud suffered a concussion in the second quarter during the Houston Texans 18-15 loss to the Denver Broncos on Sunday, and was replaced by Davis Mills. On the play, Stroud took off scrambling on a third-down, and he slid short of the first-down mark. Broncos cornerback Kris Abrams-Draine hit him right in the chest, causing Stroud’s head to hit the ground. On Monday, Texans coach DeMeco Ryans provided an update, saying that Stroud is still in the concussion protocol. “He’s feeling a little bit better,” Texans HC DeMeco Ryans said about Stroud. “We’ll see how the week goes and how he progresses throughout the week. Davis [Mills] if he has to step in and play, we expect him to go out and do his best, play the offense the proper way and make great decisions with the football.” Texans QB CJ Stroud remains in concussion protocol today. “He’s feeling a little bit better,” Texans HC DeMeco Ryans said about Stroud. “We’ll see how the week goes and how he progresses throughout the week.
