Delhi: Teenager Hangs Self After Being Scolded for Playing Mobile Game

New Delhi: A shocking incident has come to light where a 15-year-old boy died allegedly by suicide after his sister scolded him for using his mobile phone. The incident happened in Northwest Delhi’s Adarsh Nagar, the police said on Thursday, reported the news agency PTI. They added that the police were informed about the death on Wednesday and launched an investigation immediately. The police are looking into the matter from all possible angles. “During inquiry, it was revealed that the boy, identified as Adarsh, a resident of Adarsh Nagar, had allegedly hanged himself from a ceiling fan at his home following an argument with his elder sister,” Deputy Commissioner of Police (Northwest) Bhisham Singh said. The argument reportedly arose after she scolded him for playing mobile games and neglecting his studies. Adarsh, a class 9 student, was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries, police said. Police initiated proceedings under Section 194 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS). Adarsh’s father works at an export company in Kundli, Sonepat, police said. According to the Delhi Police, the miscreants were working at the behest of gangsters Rohit Godara, Goldy Brar, and Virender Charan, and were planning to murder a social media influencer. Delhi Police’s Counter-Intelligence team received information that the accused in the Haryana triple murder case were moving in the vicinity of New Friends Colony in Delhi. A trap was laid on Pushta Road in the Kalindi Kunj area. Around 3 am, a bike approaching Pushta Road was signalled to stop. However, the criminals on the bike opened fire at the police. In the retaliatory fire, both criminals were shot in the legs. The two shooters, identified as Rahul and Sahil, were then arrested, Delhi Police said.
