Delhi Office Timings Change: Air quality in the national capital, Delhi, has deteriorated again. People are experiencing difficulty breathing. According to data released by the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), the average Air Quality Index (AQI) in the national capital was recorded at 311. There is no hope of relief from the deadly pollution at the moment. In this context, the Delhi government has taken a major decision for government employees. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta announced on Friday that, in view of the increasing pollution in the city, working hours for Delhi government and Municipal Corporation employees will be staggered from November 15th to February 15th. Delhi Government Offices Changed Timings Due to the severe pollution, people are experiencing problems like eye irritation and sore throats. The city is shrouded in a blanket of toxic smog. Therefore, a change in the working hours of government employees was necessary. Delhi government offices will now function from 10:00 AM to 6:30 PM, and Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) offices from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM. Currently, Delhi government offices operate from 9:30 AM to 6:00 PM, and MCD offices from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM. The statement said that currently, there is only a 30-minute difference between the two schedules, resulting in heavy traffic congestion in the city both morning and evening, which contributes to air pollution. This government decision will not significantly impact the health of employees and will also allow them to reach their homes on time. The Chief Minister issued these instructions. The Chief Minister instructed officials to strictly enforce this system throughout the winter season and to continuously monitor traffic and pollution levels. He expressed hope that this step would help reduce pollution and provide relief to the citizens of Delhi.
