Delhi bans entry of THESE vehicles from November 1 due to…, check who is exempted and what transporters must know

From November 1 major new rules have come into effect in Delhi to fight the rising air pollution that is harming people’s health. Starting today some vehicles registered outside the capital will not allowed to enter the city while a few have been given exemptions. Here’s what you need to know about which vehicles are banned and which are still allowed. From today only commercial goods vehicles that meet BS-VI emission standards can enter Delhi. The government took this step to reduce air pollution during the winter months. The rule has been issued by the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) along with the Delhi Transport Department. Vehicles banned entry in Delhi The CAQM has made it clear that all commercial goods vehicles from other states with engines below BS-VI standards such as BS-IV or BS-III are completely banned from entering Delhi. This includes light medium and heavy goods vehicles (LGV MGV and HGV). Officials say this ban is an important move to reduce pollution and keep old polluting vehicles off Delhi’s roads. Vehicles exempted from Delhis new rule The CAQM has clarified that the new restrictions do not apply to all vehicles. Some types have been given exemptions from the ban. These include: Commercial goods vehicles registered in Delhi BS-VI compliant petrol or diesel vehicles BS-IV commercial goods vehicles (allowed only till October 31 2026) CNG LNG and electric commercial vehicles Starting tomorrow there will be a ban on entry of all non-Delhi registered BS-III and below standard commercial goods vehicles into #Delhi. Private vehicle owners don’t need to worry the new rule does not apply to them. There are no new restrictions on personal or passenger vehicles. Cars below BS-VI norms can still enter Delhi. Similarly commercial passenger vehicles like taxis Ola and Uber are also allowed to operate as usual.
