In a twist in the Delhi acid attack case, the wife of the prime accused, Jitender, has filed a complaint of rape against the victim’s father, adding a new layer of complexity to the ongoing probe. In her complaint, Jitender’s wife alleged that the victim’s father was in possession of her private photos, and accused him of exploiting her. According to police sources, the other accused in the acid attack case are relatives of the victim. The police confirmed that they are now examining the allegations and investigating the matter from all possible angles. Earlier, a 20-year-old student had sustained burn injuries on both her hands while trying to protect her face during the acid attack near Laxmi Bai College in Ashok Vihar. The attack took place when the woman was on her way to class, allegedly carried out by Jitender and his two associates, Ishan and Arman, who fled the scene soon after. The victim had identified Jitender as a stalker who had been harassing her for weeks before the assault, and had reportedly even complained to his wife about his behaviour. The police said the victim had vividly described the incident, even recalling the make and registration number of the vehicle used in the crime. As the investigation unfolds, the police are now faced with contradictory claims from both sides, making it one of the most complex and sensitive cases in recent memory. The authorities continue to record statements, collect forensic evidence, and pursue leads in an effort to uncover the full truth behind both the acid attack and the new rape allegation.
