Imagine entering ComplexCon to spot two of sports’ famous talents, Shilo Sanders and Shareef O’Neal, bantering with each other. It’s pretty unexpected, right? Well, it ain’t a random moment at all. Their generational fathers, Deion Sanders and Shaquille O’Neal, have a bond to remember, built on recognition, humor, and appreciation. Well, it’s safe to say the next generation’s cooking. On Wednesday, MLFootball shared that hilarious clip on X featuring Shilo and Shareef in a playful debate about their legendary dads. However, both come from Hall of Fame bloodlines, raised by fathers who built their legacies through discipline. But this time, Shilo also brought his comedic timing to the spotlight. While filming for his channel, he tossed out the funny question: “Whose father is cheaper: Deion Sanders or Shaquille O’Neal?” Then, without missing a beat, Shilo cracked, “Mine!” Shareef burst out laughing, tossing a quick comeback to cut Shilo off mid-joke. But Shilo wasn’t done. He doubled down with that trademark swagger, explaining that life as a famous coach’s son didn’t come with a VIP pass to designer closets. “Man, I wasn’t even thinking about no Jordans growing up,” he grins. “It was straight Under Armour, bro — because it was free!” While for Shilo, being the son of Colorado’s $60 million HC comes with pride, and for Shareef, whose dad is a four-time NBA champion with a $500 million empire, you’d think they would be living in the lap of luxury. However, they were raised by legendary figures who ensured that achievement was earned, not simply given. Here, Shareef revealed the “reward system” his dad enforced. “If y’all do something good, I’ll take y’all to Hooters,” he said. “That’s the only reward.” Shilo couldn’t help but relate. “Man, my dad was the same way,” he said. “If you do something good, we’ll go to Red Lobster or Golden Corral.”While their playful banter added some laughs, it also showcased that the sons of legends are ready to make their own mark, maybe beyond sports. That’s why the debate couldn’t have come at a better time for these next-generation stars. In particular, Shilo is still navigating his NFL path. Shilo Sanders’ next move At 25, Shilo Sanders is currently without an NFL team. The 195-pound safety was cut by the Buccaneers in August and missed out on the practice squad after clearing waivers. Although he started 10 games in his final year at Colorado, a preseason ejection for punching Bills TE Zach Davidson hurt his chances. Buccaneers coach Todd Bowles was blunt, stating, “You can’t throw punches in this league. I mean, that’s inexcusable. They’re gonna get you every time. Gotta grow from that.” Read Top Stories First From EssentiallySports Click here and check box next to EssentiallySports Although that preseason game ended up being Shilo’s last taste of NFL action, Deion Sanders noted his son has plans beyond football. “We’re praying that he gets another opportunity to go with a team, but if he doesn’t, the plans have already been put forward to what he’s going to do next. Shilo is a man of many talents… and he’s gonna be straight.” And that’s real. Shilo is already carving out a path in social media and entertainment. His YouTube channel boasts over 235,000+ subscribers, featuring everything from food challenges to house hunting and hilarious impersonations of his younger brother. While Shilo’s next chapter is shaping up fast, earlier this month, he signed with United Talent Agency for “all things not sports,” covering fashion and entertainment. With his natural charisma, Shilo is proving that even without an NFL roster spot, he has plenty of avenues to make his mark.
