It’s not every day that a beloved daytime star gets to honor her late co-star by welcoming his son to the same set. That’s the touching full-circle moment Deidre Hall experienced when Hank Northrop, son of the late Wayne Northrop, made his first appearance on Days of Our Lives. Hall shared this moment on Instagram on October 29, 2025, writing, “It’s finally here!! Hank Northrop joins Days!!! He’s yummy in this ‘full circle’ moment. Enjoy. She originally joined the series in 1976. In 1981 Wayne Northrop joined the series as Hall’s love interest, Roman Brady. The pair had electric chemistry and immediately became one of the series most beloved super couples. Northrop left the series in 1984, before returning as Roman in 1991, for an iconic storyline reuniting the pair. However, it wasn’t meant to last as Roman left the series once again in 1994. Northrop made one final return to the franchise in 2005 when he returned this time not as Roman Brady (a role now being played by Josh Taylor), but as Marlena’s, new, first husband Alex North. Northrop left the series for the last time in 2006, but remained an iconic fixture to Days of Our Lives past. As Wayne’s son, Hank is following in his father’s footsteps and honoring the legacy that he left behind. While little is known about Hank’s storyline, fans are already celebrating the legacy casting. Fans React Fans quickly flooded Hall’s comments with words of support for the arriving actor. “Truly a full circle moment. Wayne would be so happy. Oh the history !” Days of Our Lives streams weekdays exclusively on Peacock.
