Xpeng is preparing to broaden its electrified sedan lineup with the introduction of a new P7+ EREV model, equipped with a 49.2 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery that delivers a CLTC-rated pure electric range of around 202 miles. Alongside this, the company is also updating its existing P7+ battery-electric versions in the Chinese market. The refreshed BEV lineup will offer two battery options – 61.7 kWh and 74.9 kWh – enabling driving ranges between 367 and 450 miles, depending on configuration. These updates highlight Xpeng’s broader strategy to diversify its portfolio across both hybrid and fully electric segments, catering to different customer needs while strengthening its position in the Chinese market. P7+ EREV to feature 241-hp electric motor and 1.5T range extender Powering the upcoming P7+ EREV is a range-extender system that combines a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine producing up to 110 kW (148 horsepower) with an electric motor generating 180 kW (241 horsepower). Together, the setup delivers smooth hybrid performance and strong acceleration, with the car capable of reaching a top speed of around 124 miles per hour. The system is designed to balance efficiency and driving dynamics, extending range without compromising performance. Xpeng made its official entry into the range-extended EV market with the debut of its Kunpeng super electric system last November. Built on an advanced 800-volt silicon carbide architecture, the platform integrates a 5C “AI” battery pack, a hybrid silicon carbide coaxial electric drive, and a highly efficient range extender. According to the company, the system achieves exceptional performance with remarkably low operating noise, just 1 decibel, highlighting Xpeng’s focus on both technological innovation and refined driving experience. Built for both endurance and efficiency, the Kunpeng system delivers an impressive 267 miles of pure electric range and up to 870 miles in combined driving. When using fast charging, the battery can be replenished to 80% in just 12 minutes, or roughly one mile of range added per second. P7+ brings advanced AI to everyday driving experiences Launched last year in China, the P7+ is described by Xpeng as the world’s first AI-defined vehicle. The model combines refined design with intelligent, AI-driven features that enhance both driving and in-car experiences through the company’s latest software architecture. Xpeng’s P7+ introduces built-in AI-powered advanced ADAS as a standard across the entire lineup, featuring the company’s in-house XOS 5.4 platform alongside the AI Hawkeye Visual Solution. The Hawkeye system combines two 8-megapixel cameras with millimeter-wave and ultrasonic radars, providing extended-range, high-precision perception that performs reliably in a wide range of lighting and weather conditions, from low light to high contrast. Meanwhile, XOS 5.4 significantly improves human-like interaction, boosting lane-change success by 53% and detour-handling capabilities by 155%, highlighting Xpeng’s focus on smarter, safer driving technology.
