Alan was born in Wainfleet, Lincolnshire. He served in the Fire Brigade for over 20 years and later started his own business as a painter and decorator. Alan leaves a lovely wife of 49 years, two stepdaughters and one daughter, grandchildren and great grandchildren. An avid reader of crime novels and woman of style, Shirley held on to life until the very end.
