Dear X is a romantic thriller melodrama based on Vanziun's popular webtoon of the same name. Baek Ahjin (Kim Yoo Jung) is a famous actress who climbs to the top of the ladder by stepping over her childhood wounds, manipulating people — especially those closest to her — and hiding behind her cruel but gorgeous mask. Ahjin's once perfectly orchestrated life turns chaotic with a steep downfall. Nevertheless, she's shielded by her childhood friend Yoon Junseo (Kim Young Dae), who is both Ahjin's sole sanctuary and fatal Achilles' heel. Junseo has stayed by Ahjin's side his entire life, fighting through hell and back just for her. Believing that salvation is love, Junseo is willing to destroy everything to protect his love. Kim Jaeoh (Kim Do Hoon) is Ahjin's blind supporter, who willingly becomes her shadow. Yet, he stays by her side in a contrasting way from Junseo.
