Dealer claimed £8k worth of cocaine was for people he knew then the truth came out

A man whose home was raided by police claimed cocaine they found worth up to £8,000 was for people he knew. But evidence on his mobile phone showed he had been dealing in the hard drug.

Lee Wall, 33, admitted being concerned in the supply of the Class A drug cocaine, and other drug offences. But a judge at Mold Crown Court today heard he is trying to rehabilitate himself and gave him a 24-month sentence, suspended for 24 months for being concerned in the supply of cocaine from October 8 last year until May 16 this year.

Prosecutor Laura Knightly said police executed a search warrant at Wall’s home at 7am on June 4 this year. Officers found £400 cash, 64 grams of cocaine worth £6,800 to £8,500, 13g of cannabis with £160 and a tub with white powder in it. You can sign up for all the latest court stories here

Wall told police “It’s mine. It’ nothing to do with her,” referring to his partner. But his phone was seized which showed messages about drug dealing.

Rosemary Proctor, defending, welcomed the judge’s indication that Wall’s jail sentence would be suspended. Ms Proctor said: “He is eager to be released and get back to work.”

The judge Her Honour Nicola Jones, told Wall, of Howey, Llandrindod Wells, he had initially claimed the cocaine was “not for onward sale” but later he accepted he had been dealing in it.

The judge also gave Wall a concurrent sentence of 24 months in jail suspended for 24 months for possessing cocaine with intent to supply on June 4. There were also concurrent sentences of three months in jail for possessing cocaine and one month for possessing cannabis.

He must do 100 hours of unpaid work, wear a GPS trail monitoring tag for six months and attend 15 days of rehabilitation activity.
