Donegal County Council is warning people to be aware of illegal waste collectors. The local authority says unauthorised collectors often dump waste illegally, leaving communities to deal with the mess. Householders and business owners could be fined up to €3,000 if their waste is found fly-tipped, even if they paid someone to dispose of it. The Council is advising people to always ask for a waste collection permit number and a receipt.
