    DAZN Announces The PPV Price For Joseph Parker vs Fabio Wardley on October 25

    The heavyweight battle between Joseph Parker (36-3, 24 KOs)and Fabio Wardley (19-0-1, 18 KOs), scheduled for October 25, has been announced as taking place on DAZN PPV.

    The cost to purchase this event in the U.S. has been set at $59.99 & £24.99 in the U.K. The fight, being on DAZN PPV, comes as a surprise as non-title fights like this one hardly get the PPV treatment. However, DAZN has been placing more fights on PPV this year, leaving a select few events to be non-PPV. The other issue is that there is another event later that evening, as Sebastian Fundora vs. Keith Thurman will stream live on Prime Video PPV.

    At last week’s press conference, Queensberry boss Frank Warren explained why he feels this fight is important.

    “Why is this fight so significant? Because you’ve got two guys who don’t need to fight each other. Both are Interim champions. Usyk is out for 90 days and the WBO have said that at the end of those 90 days he has to defend that belt or he will be stripped or vacate it.

    “So this fight is made because the winner of it will be the man who will be the next challenger to Usyk. It is as simple as that. If he doesn’t fight them, the winner could be declared champion.

    “You’ve got to take your hat off to both of them. They are not waiting their turn. The WBO is next, and Joe wants to fight and not wait until next year. With Fabio, he sees this as a shortcut or you could be waiting for two years until you get your chance, if the champion fights two times a year.”

    Parker vs. Wardley on PPV is going to dramatically limit the number of eyeballs it receives, regardless of what is at stake. The thinking has to be that this will be consumed primarily by fans in the U.K. than in the U.S., as Wardley isn’t known in the States. The question comes down to whether you are a big enough fan to pony up money for Parker-Wardley and maybe even two PPVs that day. Parker vs. Wardley being on PPV is a reason why fans have been saying that boxing needs to do better.
