Davina McCall shares 'very, very lucky' diagnosis in bombshell health update

Davina McCall has bravely shared her recent breast cancer diagnosis and subsequent surgery. The 58 year old TV presenter took to social media today to reveal that the disease was detected "very, very early" after she discovered a lump in her breast. In a heartfelt video message to her fans, Davina explained that she found the lump while on the set of ITV's The Masked Singer, prompted by a sign in the toilets at Lorraine's studio encouraging self-checks. "One morning I saw it in the mirror and I thought, 'I'm going to get that looked at.' So I had a biopsy and found out it was indeed breast cancer," she continued. "I had it taken out in a lumpectomy nearly three weeks ago and the margins, they take out a little bit extra, they check the margins and the margins are clear. "It was very, very small so I got it very, very early which is incredibly lucky." "But I am so relieved to have had it removed and to know that it hasn't spread. "My lymph nodes were clear, I didn't have any removed and all I'm going to do now is have five days of radiotherapy in January as an insurance policy," reports the Mirror . Davina extended her gratitude to everyone at the Royal Marsden hospital where she received treatment, as well as her "brilliant kids". She added: "An extra special thanks to Michael - it's been a lot. "I was very angry when I found out but I let go of that and I feel in a much more positive place now. "I think my message is - get checked if you're worried, check yourself regularly. "If you are due a mammogram then get it done and I have dense breasts and I had a mammogram in August". The presneter's latest health scare comes after the former Big Brother host confirmed in April that her 'final MRI' showed a colloid cyst, which was removed in November 2024, is 'not coming back'. It was found when she was offered a health check-up as part of her menopause advocacy work. The 58-year-old previously described how undergoing an operation to remove the benign brain tumour left her 'not afraid of dying any more'.
