David Morais ID'd as man killed in 'industrial accident' at Materia Millwork in Avon

A man who was killed in an “industrial accident” at an Avon business Tuesday afternoon has been identified as 28-year-old Boston resident David Morais, the Norfolk County District Attorney’s Office announced Wednesday.
The West Roxbury resident was moving a stack of plywood at Materia Millwork when he was fatally injured, the district attorney’s office said.
Materia Millwork did not immediately respond to a request for comment Wednesday afternoon.
Avon police and firefighters responded to a 911 call reporting an accident at 254 Bodwell St. in which a man injured his head shortly before 3 p.m., Avon police said previously. First-responders found Morais with fatal injuries inside Materia Millwork.
A blood transfusion truck from Canton and an ambulance from Stoughton also responded, but Morais was declared dead at the scene, police said.
Morais’ death remains under investigation by Avon police, the Norfolk County District Attorney’s Office, the state Chief Medical Examiner’s Office and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), the district attorney’s office said.
