Forget about Posh Spice! It’s Lady Spice now! If you haven’t heard yet, David Beckham received a massive honor this week — knighthood. Yep, that’s right! He is Sir Beckham now! King Charles knighted the 50-year-old former footballer for his contribution to sports and charitable causes over the years during a ceremony at Windsor Castle on Tuesday. This was a foregone conclusion, considering what an impact Becks made for Brits on the sporting world. But now it’s here! As you can imagine, David is so grateful for the achievement! The athlete told reporters following the event: “I cried when I first found out, and possibly for a few months after it as well. But this week has been really emotional because being back in London and obviously, on the lead-up to this day, it’s been not stressful, I’ve not been nervous. I’ve just been emotional. I get that from my mum. I think it’s because of the journey. I think it’s because it’s such a big moment for our family and it’s so special.” As for whether David will make his family call him Sir? LOLz! No! But they can if they want! He said: “I’m not insisting. If they would like to call me Sir Dad or Sir Son, they can. But no. It’s gonna take some getting used to people saying it, but no, it’s just a huge honor.” He may not mind either way, but apparently his wife is ready to reap the benefits of the title right away! David is not the only one with a new title, though! With his knighthood, Victoria Beckham can now call herself Lady Beckham. It is optional for wives to use the honor. However, we are talking about Posh Spice here! You know she planned to adopt it the moment she heard David’s knighthood news! LOLz! According to The Mirror on Tuesday, Victoria officially decided to go by Lady Beckham moving forward. At this time, the fashion designer hasn’t changed her social media accounts to reflect that, but we wouldn’t be surprised if it happens soon! Lady Victoria does have quite a ring to it… She is apparently already calling her hubby Sir, though! She gushed over his achievement on Instagram, writing: “David, from the moment I met you 28 years ago, you’ve always been so proud to represent your country. Whether on or off the pitch, no one loves England or respects our Royal Family more, so to see you honoured by The King today is something I’ll forever cherish. You’ve achieved so much, and yet you’re still the same kind, humble, hardworking man I met nearly 30 years ago, as well as the most amazing husband and father. I’ve never felt prouder than I do today. Sir @davidbeckham, we all love you so much xxx” Aww!
