David Beckham's sweet tribute to Victoria during knighthood ceremony left King Charles stunned

Sir David Beckham left King Charles stunned during his knighthood ceremony by paying tribute to his wife, Victoria Beckham. The football legend, honoured for his illustrious career and philanthropic efforts, used the occasion to honour his partner of 26 years, crediting her for his impeccable suit that caught the monarch's eye. Freshly dubbed Sir David, the 50-year-old arrived at Windsor Castle in a tailored morning suit that evoked classic British elegance. As the King bestowed the accolade in recognition of Beckham's contributions to sport, charity and global ambassadorship, he couldn't help but compliment David's outfit. "He was quite impressed with my suit," Beckham told PA. "He's kind of the most elegantly dressed man that I know, so he inspired quite a few of my looks over the years and he definitely inspired this look. "It was something that my wife made me," the former England captain explained. "I looked at old pictures of him when he was quite young in morning suits and I was like, OK, that's what I want to wear, so I gave it to my wife and she did it." Victoria, a renowned fashion designer and former pop icon, has built a global brand celebrated for its refined tailoring and modern elegance - qualities that clearly shone through in her husband's attire on Tuesday. David's path to knighthood has been long anticipated. Rising from Manchester United's youth academy to captaining England and starring for clubs like Real Madrid and AC Milan, he retired in 2013 but continued impacting lives through UNICEF ambassadorship and co-owning Inter Miami CF. His charity work, including malaria campaigns and youth sports initiatives, sealed his status as a national treasure. He received an OBE in 2003 and has been in contention for a knighthood for over a decade. But after years of near-misses, he was finally included in the King's Birthday Honours List back in June. News of his inclusion briefly threatened to derail the accolade, as protocol dictates that honours can be withdrawn if a recipient's name is leaked in advance. However, because the revelation did not originate from Beckham or his team, it ultimately proved a non-issue. Sir David joins an elite group of footballing knights, including Sir Gareth Southgate, Sir Bobby Charlton and Beckham's former manager, Sir Alex Ferguson. In an emotional speech after receiving his knighthood, Beckham fought back tears as he spoke of his "relief" and "pride" to be honoured in such a way. Speaking to Sky, he even joked that while he isn't insisting his kids change his name they "can call me sir dad if they want". He also insisted he wasn't nervous ahead of the ceremony, but couldn't help but feel a little overcome with emotion. "It's been, erm, not stressful," he said. "I've not been nervous. I've just been emotional." Beckham will now be known as Sir David, while Victoria will be stylised as Lady Beckham. His award was confirmed due to his services to sport and charity. A statement from Beckham at the time read: "Growing up in east London with parents and grandparents who were so patriotic and proud to be British, I never could have imagined I would receive such a truly humbling honour. "To have played for and captained my country was the greatest privilege of my career and literally a boyhood dream come true. Off the pitch I have been fortunate to have the opportunity to represent Britain around the world and work with incredible organisations that are supporting communities in need and inspiring the next generation. "I'm so lucky to be able to do the work that I do and I'm grateful to be recognised for work that gives me so much fulfilment. It will take a little while for the news to sink in but I’m immensely proud and it's such an emotional moment for me to share with my family."
