Dave Portnoy breaks his silence after being trolled for his 'pizza belly' in viral photo with Patriots owner Robert Kraft

Barstool Sports chief Dave Portnoy isn't shying away from his apparent weight gain. Portnoy, 48, went viral on Sunday when he was captured watching his beloved New England Patriots in a luxury VIP suite alongside owner Robert Kraft. However, one particular detail of Portnoy's appearance caught fans' attention as some brutally mocked him for his 'belly' and accused him of doing too many of his famous pizza reviews. The media mogul himself joined in on the fun when he shared a screenshot of him celebrating with Kraft from a side-on angle. 'Camera really does add 100 pounds,' he quipped. Portnoy addressed the now-viral photo during an appearance on Wake Up Barstool on Monday morning when he admitted: 'I'm definitely getting fat, there's no doubt about that.' However, Portnoy admitted that he wasn't vain enough to make lifestyle changes or sacrifices for the sake of shedding a few pounds. 'But at some level, I'm 48, that's just genetics,' he added. 'There's not much I can do. I eat pizza everyday. I don't really work out. I'm not going to go on Ozempic. I'm a big believer in eating. 'You know what I did when I got home after that screenshot? We have, in my household, emergency Italian. If you get home and restaurants are closed, you have a packet of pasta, I made some garlic bread, whipped it up and had a celebratory carb-loading meal at about 11pm. 'So, I'm not going to let that get me down. It is what it is. I don't feel like working out, I'm not that vain.' Portnoy is renowned for his 'one-bite' pizza reviews, which see him visit pizzerias across the country to give his official ranking. However, one of his most recent reviews became the site of a vile antisemitic while he filmed on the streets of Mississippi. A member of the public caught the moment on camera as they were recording Portnoy doing one of his famous 'one bite' pizza reviews. He is in town for Mississippi State's college football showdown against Georgia on Saturday. As Portnoy, who is Jewish, was talking to the camera, a man interrupted him by shouting: 'Hey, f*** the Jews, f*** you Dave.' Portnoy looked understandably shocked as the crowd that had gathered around him immediately turned around and condemned the abuse. 'Why don't you come in the camera, buddy?' Portnoy then called out, and the member of the public who filmed the incident turned their own phone around to show what appeared to be a young man in a baseball cap who was the perpetrator. Portnoy then walked up to the heckler and they appeared to exchange words which were not caught on the video that has appeared on social media. The exchange did, however, appear to be filmed by Portnoy's own cameraman. There was also plenty of pushback among the crowd that had gathered to watch Portnoy's pizza review in person. One woman can be heard saying 'that was awful' while a man shouted at the heckler: 'F*** you, get out of here.
