Dates have been announced for the new downtown experience “Theater of the Mind,” created by music artist David Byrne of Talking Heads fame with writer Mala Gaonkar. “Theater of the Mind,” produced in collaboration with the Goodman Theatre, will begin previews March 11 and run through May 31, 2026, with an official opening night set for March 25 at the Reid Murdoch Building, 333 N. LaSalle St. Tickets ($66-$96) go on sale at 10 a.m. Nov. 7 at 312-443-3800, in person at the Goodman Theatre box office at 170 N. Dearborn St., and at TheaterOfTheMindChicago.com. Presented as part of the Goodman’s anniversary Centennial Season, the project is described as an “immersive journey of how we perceive and create our worlds, inspired by both historical and current neuroscience research.” It will be directed by Andrew Scoville, with technology direction by Heidi Boisvert. Audiences of 16 at a time will explore “a 15,000-square-foot immersive experience,” with the attraction expected to take about 75 minutes.
