Danny Rohl told the Rangers problems he can't shy away from if he wants to become the Ibrox 'Jurgen Klopp'

Danny Rohl will have to try and invoke the presence and charismatic spirit of his compatriot Jurgen Klopp if he wants to get Rangers back to the top. That's according to ex Manchester United assistant coach Rene Meulensteen who says the German needs to become the figurehead for a bright future at Ibrox. After missing out on Steven Gerrard and Kevin Muscat in the wake of Russell Martin's sacking, Gers appointed Rohl on a two-and-a-half year deal last week, three months on from his acrimonious departure at Sheffield Wednesday. Rohl's reign started with a dismal 3-0 away loss to Brann in the Europa League but he was able to get off to a winning start in the Premiership last weekend when Rangers downed Kilmarnock 3-1 at Ibrox . Gers return to action with a tough trip to face Hibernian at Easter Road tonight and know that a victory could be enough to leapfrog the capital side into third place. Klopp was known to be a larger of life figure during his successful spells as manager of Borussia Dortmund and Liverpool, winning three league titles and nine cup competitions in total. And Sir Alex Ferguson's former right-hand man at Old Trafford Meulensteen reckons Rohl, 36, also needs to bring a calm demeanour to Ibrox amid their testing start to the season both on and off the pitch. Meulensteens was speaking to CasinoHawks, who offer the latest online casinos , and said: "Rangers is a great club with huge potential. However, you need to look a little deeper behind the curtains, at the running of the club. "What is the current state of the team? Are they playing the right system? Did the previous manager get the best out of them? If not, why? "You need to look at the recruitment policy and what is possible in January. There are many things to consider, but what Rangers needs is a strong personality, someone the fans can buy into to create stability and calm everything down. "If Ole Gunnar Solskjaer would’ve been the right guy, if Michael Carrick would’ve, who knows, they have their own personalities and traits. I thought at one point Steven Gerrard was mentioned as a potential candidate, getting back to the club. "Other candidates include Kevin Muscat, who has done very well at various clubs in different countries. I believe he played there, so he had that link. But Danny Rohl has now gone in there. "What I'm trying to say is that it needs to be someone with the personality that Jurgen Klopp carried with him, where everyone suddenly thinks, ‘Wow, we have a guy here!' He's an imposing figure, with a massive smile, and you listen to what he has to say. "That's what needs to happen with Rangers. But you cannot shy away from a thorough look at what's happening behind the curtains, and the fans need to understand that too. "Russell Martin has become a victim of that, and it could easily happen to any other manager."
