The Boy Meets World star, 44, spoke more about the upcoming dance performance on the latest episode of the Danielle With… podcast on Nov. 3 while interviewing former DWTS pro Louis van Amstel. In the interview, Fishel revealed that she and her pro dance partner Pasha Pashkov will be performing a contemporary dance to Aerosmith’s “Dream On” for rock night and shared more behind the message they want to send with their dance. View directly on Instagram “We are telling the story about how difficult it can be to be a woman in society where we are somehow always too much and also never enough,” she explained. “No matter what choice you make, whether you work inside the home or outside the home. If you choose to work outside then you’re selfish and your children need you and where is their mother, and if you work inside the home, then you are boring and don’t have interests.” She added that “There’s no winning” for women in these situations and noted that since she’s been “in the public eye and on TV since I was 10 years old, I have been under a microscope, and my choices have been scrutinized.” “I’ve made terrible mistakes,” she continued. ” And I’m resistant to it because it’s triggering so many things in me,” including her eating disorder. 🎬SIGN UP for Parade’s Daily newsletter to get the latest pop culture news & celebrity interviews delivered right to your inbox Fishel became emotional when she revealed that preparing for this upcoming performance had brought up “a lot of negative self-talk” and and “all these things that are so personal.” “Instead of me leaning into it and embracing that in the dance, it’s making me not want to do it,” she continued. “But I think the fact that I realized it, made me wake up and think, one, so happy to be talking to you and for you to give me the advice you gave me because it really lands and resonates, but also, it’s very clear that this is striking an emotional cord for me and there’s a reason for that and this dance actually means something.” Danielle Fishel on her past struggles with her eating disorder This isn’t the first time the actress opened up about her eating disorder. Fishel spoke more about her struggles on the Pod Meets World, the podcast back in 2024, where she gave fans a “real peek into the mind of teenage Danielle in the nineties,” when she dealt with those issues the most. “The nineties in general were a time where, you know, there was really no such thing as body positivity,” she explained at the time. “Everyone was chasing a waif look. And if you had curves or if you had any sort of extra weight, it was really something you were supposed to feel bad about.” “I have always been the type [where] I gain weight relatively quickly and but I gain it evenly,” she continued and recalled some of the fan reactions to her appearance while on Boy Meets World. “I would see comments people had made about me when I was on Boy Meets World when I did have more weight on me than I did in the first couple of seasons, and I found that there were plenty of people who were like, ‘I think Topanga looked better with more weight on her,’ ” she recalled. “And I was like, ‘No!
