The management of the Dangote refinery says its compressed natural gas (CNG)-powered trucks have commenced the loading of petrol ahead of the nationwide distribution scheduled for Tuesday.
The refinery announced the development during the launch of its free fuel distribution scheme on Monday.
The Dangote refinery had said it will commence the direct sale of petrol to the south-west, Abuja, Kwara, Delta, Rivers, and Edo states on Monday.
According to the plant, the scheme will begin in 11 states, adding that the refinery will “subsequently expand our operations into other states”.
The refinery said it will deliver the product to retail outlets in Lagos, Ogun, Oyo, Ondo, Osun, and Ekiti at N841 per litre, while the product will be sold for N851 per litre in Abuja, Delta, Rivers, Edo, and Kwara states.
On June 15, Dangote refinery announced its acquisition of 4,000 new CNG-powered tankers to enhance its fuel distribution capacity across the country.
Dangote refinery, on June 29, said its nationwide petroleum products distribution scheme will save Nigerians over N1.7 trillion annually.
