Dangote Partners Abuja Chamber to Sponsor 2025 International Trade Fair

Dangote Industries Limited has announced its sponsorship of the 2025 Abuja International Trade Fair, reaffirming its role as a key player in Nigeria’s industrial growth and Africa’s economic development.

The fair, which is organised by the Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI), will open on September 25 and run for 12 days in the nation’s capital.

In a statement signed by the company’s spokesperson, Anthony Chiejina, Dangote Industries described the partnership as a strategic collaboration to deepen trade, attract new investments, and promote sustainable development. The company noted that the Abuja fair presents an opportunity to showcase innovation, engage stakeholders, and boost intra-African trade.

“Dangote Group is proud to announce its strategic partnership with the Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry, organisers of the 2025 Abuja International Trade Fair. This collaboration presents a valuable opportunity to engage with key stakeholders and boost intra-African trade and investments,” the statement read.

The 20th edition of the fair is themed “Sustainability: Consumption, Incentives, and Taxation.” It will highlight sustainable business practices, green technologies, and policies that can transform industries while improving livelihoods.

Senior Adviser to the President of Dangote Group, Fatima Wali-Abdurrahman, said the conglomerate will use the event to showcase its wide-ranging portfolio of products and services. She listed sugar, cement, salt, fertilizer, trucks, Dangote Peugeot Automobile, packaging materials, seasoning, and petroleum products as some of the company’s offerings that will be displayed at the fair.

She explained that Dangote Industries, though already a market leader in Africa, remains committed to innovation and continuous growth. “Dangote Industries Limited is a recognised market leader in Africa, yet it is not resting on its oars. Nearly all our Strategic Business Units will be showcasing innovative products at the fair,” she said.

Wali-Abdurrahman also praised the Chamber’s “Buy Africa, Build Africa” initiative, describing it as a timely effort to strengthen regional value chains and support local content development.

Speaking to journalists in Abuja, the President of ACCI, Chief Emeka Obegolu (SAN), said this year’s edition is expected to attract more than 100,000 participants. He explained that attendees will include representatives from government agencies, multinational corporations, small and medium-sized enterprises, diplomatic missions, and development partners.

According to him, the exhibitions will cut across different sectors, including trade, agriculture, fintech, sustainable energy, transportation, environmental solutions, and the creative industries. Obegolu stressed that Dangote’s involvement underscores the Chamber’s determination to drive growth, build linkages, and create business opportunities.

“Our collaboration with Dangote reflects our commitment to driving economic growth, strengthening trade, and creating opportunities for businesses and communities. Dangote Group’s participation further demonstrates its role as a key player in Nigeria’s industrial and commercial landscape,” he said.

The Director-General of ACCI, Dr. Agabaidu Jideani, also highlighted the importance of Dangote’s partnership, pointing out the benefits for both investors and exhibitors. “By participating, investors like the Dangote Group stand to gain through access to markets, green opportunities, networking, brand visibility, and credibility,” he said.

He added that the trade fair is not just a marketplace but also a platform for eco-friendly technologies, innovative solutions, and sustainable practices that can help transform Nigeria’s economy. Jideani described Dangote’s role as critical to enhancing the global visibility of the event.

“The Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry highly values its long-standing partnership with the Dangote Group. This collaboration not only enhances the visibility of the fair but also reinforces our mission of promoting sustainable development, innovation, and investment,” he added.

Over the years, Dangote Industries has consistently supported the Abuja Chamber of Commerce in its initiatives to strengthen industry and commerce in Nigeria. The company’s president, Aliko Dangote, has also been a strong supporter of the Chamber, recognising its strategic role in Abuja as a hub for policymakers and members of the diplomatic community.

As the countdown begins, anticipation is building for the 2025 Abuja International Trade Fair. With Dangote’s sponsorship and the Chamber’s strategic focus, this year’s event is expected to serve not only as a hub for commerce and innovation but also as a platform to shape Nigeria’s economic future through sustainable and inclusive growth.
