Dan Nlundulu says moving to St Mirren has kickstarted his career. The Buddies forward put pen to paper on a deal after leaving Sky Bet League One side Bolton Wanderers. He has been a regular in the Saints matchday squad, scored in the Premier Sports Cup quarter-final shoot-out victory at Kilmarnock and made his first start last weekend at home to Aberdeen. Nlundulu, who was born in France and has a family connection to Congo in Africa, is now determined to push on under the guidance of boss Stephen Robinson. “The gaffer’s been very good with me," said Nlundulu, who netted the opener in Saturday's 3-1 Premiership defeat to Dundee United. "Obviously, right he’s given me my chance. “It’s taken a bit of time due to fitness and things like that. I’ve enjoyed it. It’s started well. At Bolton, it was quite a difficult situation. My journey was over there. “When St Mirren came in on deadline, I just wanted to do it as quick as possible. The gaffer called me and we got the house on fire. Then it was a no-brainer, so I came straight up here. “You can tell straight away how he is. His enthusiasm, his energy, his personality – which I’m a bit like that as well. That’s why I feel like we’ve got on so well.” Nlundulu’s father, Jean Pierre, played football in Africa while his brother, Gael, came through the ranks at Paris Saint-Germain. The family moved to the Fratton area of Portsmouth, Hampshire, where a number of them still live close to Pompey’s ground. Nlundulu actually started his professional career with Pompey’s bitter rivals Southampton, and he made his English Premier League debut against Everton five years ago.
