Rockstar co-founder Dan Houser has chosen Audible as the audio home for A Better Paradise, a series of novels that ultimately will comprise three books.
A Better Paradise Vol. One: An Aftermath arrives in print, ebook and audiobook on Oct. 14. Ray Porter will narrate after building admiration among audiobook aficionados for work on books such as Andy Weir’s Project Hail Marry. Onscreen, he’s known for playing Darkseid in Zack Snyder’s Justice League.
A Better Paradise is set in a near future, telling the story of the creation of an ambitious, addictive video game from inventor and psychologist Dr. Mark Tyburn. As the advance technology the team created begins to deliver disturbing twists, the team fell apart amid strange circumstances, only for the super-intelligence inside the game to be left dormant, until now.
Houser is one of the most successful and influential creators in video game history. As co-founder of Rockstar, he was a key force behind the Grand Theft Auto and Red Dead Redemption series, before he exited the company in 2020.
