The Democratic Town Committee will hold its fall meeting from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 29, in the Nessacus Regional Middle School library, 35 Fox Drive Road. The school is ADA compliant. The public is invited to attend.
After a brief business meeting, the Committee will host a panel discussion on “ICE Raids in Berkshire County.” Panelists include Fernando Leon of Berkshire Interfaith Organizing, immigration attorney Jessica David and Dalton Police Chief Deanna Strout.
The discussion will cover the impact of increased ICE arrests, due process violations, Dalton’s police policies encouraging crime reporting, and the role of civic activities in holding leaders accountable.
