‘Dad Stroll’ will highlight love, strength and purpose through fatherhood

FLINT, MI — Walking with your family is a healthy way to spend the weekend and could be an opportunity to catch up with your dad.
Genesee County Healthy Start, in partnership with InvolvedDad, will host an inaugural Dad Stroll from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 11, starting at the Mott Park Clubhouse, located at 2401 Nolen Drive in Flint.
The event is meant to be a heartfelt celebration of fathers and father figures whose everyday presence strengthens the fabric of Flint and Genesee County’s communities.
“In Genesee County, we know that strong families build strong communities, and father figures play a vital role in that foundation,” Brittany Monge, Genesee Healthy Start supervisor, said in a statement. “The Dad Stroll is an opportunity to honor those contributions, share stories, and create new memories together.”
The Dad Stroll is community-centered event that gives families the opportunity to walk side by side with the men who’ve made a difference in their lives.
More than a walk, the event is a tribute to the men who lead with love, mentor with purpose and show up with strength.
The celebration will feature community resources and information from local organizations that support families, a father/child free throw contest, a temporary tattoo station, family-friendly games and light refreshments for attendees.
Admission is free and open to all ages.
Whether you’re a father, partner, grandfather, uncle, mentor, or simply someone who shows up with love and leadership, this event is for you.
Participants are encouraged to wear comfortable walking shoes and bring lawn chairs or blankets for the festivities.
