As Cyclone Montha is set to make landfall on the Andhra coast between Machilipatnam and Kakinada late Tuesday evening, the South Western Railway has announced rescheduling train services to and from Bengaluru for passengers’ safety. Train No. 18464 KSR Bengaluru - Bhubaneswar Prashanthi Express Check updated timings here The South Western Railway stated that the train is rescheduled by 10 hours from its scheduled departure timings. “In view of the prevailing Cyclone MONTHA, Train No. 18464 KSR Bengaluru - Bhubaneswar Prashanthi Express Journey commencing on 28.10.2025 is rescheduled by 10 hours from its scheduled departure timings, considering passenger safety.” Similarly, Train No. 22887, the Howrah – SMVT Bengaluru Humsafar Express, departing on the same day, has been rescheduled by 12 hours. IMD has warned of strong winds, high waves, and flooding in Andhra and Odisha, with both states on high alert. The department has also advised fishermen to avoid venturing into the sea along and off the West Bengal coast until Thursday. Indian Railways cancels 32 trains The Indian Railways has announced cancellation of 32 trains passing through Visakhapatnam, citing passenger safety due to the Montha Cyclone, ANI reported. Deepak Rout, the Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO) at East Coast Railway, said that local MEMUs and other trains scheduled to depart on Tuesday (October 28) have been cancelled, adding that the list of all cancelled trains will be uploaded on the social media pages of Indian Railways.
