Cycling federation selects team for Caribbean Elite Championship

entity still without constitutional quorum

Despite not possessing the required constitutional quorum, the Guyana Cycling Federation (GCF) announced its team for the Caribbean Elite Championships, which is set for October 9-13 in Belize.

This was confirmed by a press release from the GCF. According to the correspondence, the selected team comprises Aaron Newton [KFC Evolution], Paul DeNobrega [Continental], Briton John [We Stand United], Raynauth Jeffrey [Unattached], Johaan Burrowes [We Stand United], and lone female representative Suzanna Taylor [We Stand United]. The alternative cyclist is Mario Washington [We Stand United].

Since late December 2024, the federation has failed to meet quorum at both the executive and general council levels, paralysing decision-making.

In early January, GCF President Horace Burrowes disregarded these governance failures and pushed ahead with an ordinary business agenda, sparking outrage from member clubs.
