"A disagreement has emerged between the Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) and local traders over the management of the Urban Haat in Chhatra Bazaar. While the CMC has invited tenders for the operation and maintenance of the market, the Chhatra Bazaar Traders" Association has opposed the move, citing concerns over increased stall fees and potential losses for both traders and consumers.Advertisment According to the association, the tender process will result in a hike in stall charges (pindi), which were previously collected at Rs 20 per stall through the Self-Help Group (SHG) system. The traders argue that the new rates will impose a financial burden on them, and they have demanded that the management of the Urban Haat be handed over to the Traders" Association itself.
