Repeat offending could then be punished. The locations are: Councillor Majid Mahmood, Cabinet Member for the Environment and Transport, said: "These new powers will help to make our roads safer by reducing dangerous driving behaviours like making banned turns and ignoring no-entry signs. "It will also allow for more effective local control over traffic flow and safety. "When enforcement action does begin, our focus will be on education. "New signage and road markings give motorists the opportunity to adjust their behaviour. We may also issue valid PCNs with no fine payable initially." It's the latest move designed to make the roads safer in Birmingham and comes after announcements for new speed cameras and a raft of new 30mph speed limits before the end of the year.
