Dallas Cowboys superstar wide receiver CeeDee Lamb suffered a high-ankle sprain during the first half of Sunday’s game against the Chicago Bears, which ultimately sidelined him for the remainder of the game. The concern for Lamb and the Cowboys now is how much time the wideout might miss, as Dallas’ offense is heavily reliant on its passing attack to keep the team competitive.Prominent sports doctor Deepak Chona of Sports Med Analytics on X analyzed a clip of the injury on social media and suggested that Lamb could miss multiple weeks moving forward.”#Cowboys CeeDee Lamb — Video suggests high ankle [sprain],” Chona wrote. “Most do cause missed time but his ability to walk on it right away suggests lower severity. [Average two weeks] for mild cases.”Lamb handled a significant workload for the Cowboys offense over the first two weeks of the season. Quarterback Dak Prescott targeted him 24 times over the team’s 1-1 start, connecting with the wideout on 16 passes for 222 receiving yards. However, Lamb has yet to find the end zone.Read More: Shedeur Sanders Breaks Silence on Browns’ Rumored QB PlansRead More: Bears Named Potential Trade Partner for Dolphins’ $13 Million Edge-RusherThe injury likely means that Prescott will turn more frequently to George Pickens, Dallas’ WR2 who many believe has the talent to be a No. 1 option.Pickens had eight grabs for 98 receiving yards and one touchdown entering Week 3 at Soldier Field and added another four catches for 44 yards and one score by the end of the third quarter on Sunday. While the Cowboys are fortunate to have acquired Pickens from the Pittsburgh Steelers during the offseason, losing Lamb for any period of time, should that happen, is going to have a domino effect on what Dallas’ offense can accomplish and how it functions. The dual threat of Lamb and Pickens on the outside allowed for several light boxes over the first two weeks of the season. As a result, running back Javonte Williams had significant success, rushing the football at 4.6 yards per clip (151 yards and three touchdowns on 33 carries through two games). If Lamb is out, opposing defenses will likely clamp down a bit more with only Pickens to worry about as an explosive play threat, which means moving the chains will be a little harder for the rest of the offense.Read More: NFL Insider Hints Browns Could Entertain Shedeur Sanders Trade
