The Dallas Cowboys have had their struggles on the defensive side of the ball, as they are in the bottom-five in many different categories. They are ranked 30th in scoring defense (29.4 points), while being last in passing yards allowed (260.3 yards) and total defense (401.3 yards). Injuries have played a role in that, and things have gotten worse as they have placed star cornerback Trevon Diggs on the injured reserve after sustaining a concussion. The #Cowboys placed CB Trevon Diggs on Reserve/Injured on Saturday. He’s out at least four games.— Tom Pelissero (@TomPelissero) October 25, 2025 Injuries have been an issue for Diggs over the past couple of seasons, as he has only been able to play in 13 total games the past two seasons. He tore his ACL in 2023, that allowed him to play in only two games that year. He was able to return last season, playing in 11 games and finishing with 42 tackles and two interceptions. On the season, he has 13 tackles. Diggs introduced himself to the NFL in 2021, when he finished with 11 interceptions and was named First-Team All-Pro. With Diggs out, the Cowboys will have to rely on starters DaRon Bland and Kaiir Elam. Other guys who figure to get more playing time in his absence are Reddy Steward, C.J. Goodwin, and Caelen Carson. The Cowboys will be going up against a Broncos team that is coming off a game where they scored 33 points in the fourth quarter complete a stunning comeback against the New York Giants. DaRon Bland figures to be matched up against Courtland Sutton for much of the game. Dak Prescott and the Cowboys offense has had to put up big numbers all season long, and that figures once again to be the case. The game against the Broncos on Sunday puts one of the elite offenses against one of the top defenses in the league led by reigning Defensive Player of the Year Patrick Surtain II. Kickoff between the two teams will be at 4:25 p.m. ET and the game will be on CBS.
