Cowboys Linked to Sneaky Good Trade Deadline Target

The Dallas Cowboys and team owner Jerry Jones have been very interested in the idea of getting aggressive ahead of the upcoming NFL trade deadline. However, to this point, they have been unable to get a deal done. After trading superstar pass rusher Micah Parsons to the Green Bay Packers ahead of the 2025 NFL season, the Cowboys have extra draft capital to work with in trade discussions. They have been rumored to be swinging for the fences on the trade market. So far, both Trey Hendrickson and Maxx Crosby have been rumored to be top targets for Dallas. While there may be interest from the Cowboys, the Cincinnati Bengals and Las Vegas Raiders have not seemed motivate to work out a trade with them. Owner Jerry Jones of the Dallas Cowboys smiles prior to the game against the Philadelphia Eagles at Lincoln Financial Field on September 04, 2025 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. ESPN took a look at a list of players who could be traded before the deadline. One of the more intriguing candidates was Bengals’ linebacker Logan Wilson. Among the list of teams named possible suitors for Wilson were the Cowboys. “The Bengals are going younger at linebacker, relegating Wilson to a reserve role in favor of rookie Barrett Carter despite Wilson’s status as a team captain. Teams I’ve talked to believe Cincinnati is open to dealing Wilson, whose base salary is $5.4 million this season. Next year, Wilson has a base of $6 million,” ESPN NFL insider Jeremy Fowler wrote. Wilson would be a very good pickup for Dallas. He has been a big piece of the Cincinnati defense over the last six years. Throughout the course of the 2025 NFL season thus far, Wilson has played in seven games. He has racked up 41 total tackles to go along with a fumble recovery and four defended passes. If things worked out with the Cowboys, he could become an important long-term piece of the Dallas defense. Depending on the price that the Bengals would want in return for Wilson, the Cowboys would be wise to look into this option.
