Court rules against bail for Namcor fraud accused

UPDATE: Magistrate Linus Samunzala has dismissed the bail application of brothers and business partners Peter and Malakia Elindi, as well as former Managing Director of Namcor Immanuel Mulunga and his former co-workers Olivia Dunaiski, the former commercial manager, and Jennifer Hamukwaya, former executive of finance and administration, as well as Leo Nandago, who is linked to the Erongo Petroleum bail. “It is the court’s considered view that it is not in the public interest or in the administration of justice that the applicants be released on bail. It is apparent from the evidence, with the exception of the 6th applicant (Dunaiski), that they contradicted themselves in giving evidence. The applicants made material concessions on record. Considering the totality of the evidence, the applicants failed to prove on a balance of probabilities that they are good candidates for bail,” the magistrate said. The bail application of ex-Namcor supply manager, Cedric Willemse, will be held on the 7th of October 2025.
