Couple who made £105,000 from industrial scale ‘rancid’ puppy farm in their Hednesford home avoid jail

Ian and Susan WIlson, from Mount Road, were given suspended sentences at Birmingham Crown Court six years after 60 dogs were saved from their ‘rancid’ home.
The pair previously pleaded guilty to running an illegal puppy farm for two years between 2017 and 2019, and Ian Wilson also pleaded guilty to fraud and money laundering; the pair made more than £105,000 from selling puppies.
After pleading guilty the couple reneged on their confession until told they would have to give evidence on the witness stand and then reverted to their guilty pleas.
Prosecutor Mark Jackson, who has dogged pursued the couple through the Covid-delayed court system for six years on behalf of Cannock Chase District Council told the judge what environmental health officers found when they entered the house.
