Couple tied up as thieves take cash and car in South Oropouche

Police in Oropouche are investigating a violent robbery at a Rousillac restaurant and bar that left a couple bound and robbed in the early hours of Thursday morning.

The victims, a school safety officer, and his wife, the proprietress of Score Restaurant and Bar at Mon Desir Road, were closing their establishment around 12:15 a.m. when two armed men entered. One suspect was approximately six feet tall, slim, dark-complexioned, and the other about 5’7”, also slim and dark-complexioned, with both wearing dark clothing.

The suspects reportedly forced the couple to lie on the ground and tied their hands, before stealing at $6,000 bera, $1,800 from the cash register, three phones valued at $15,000, and a brown Nissan Tiida valued at $40,000.

The couple freed themselves shortly afterward and alerted police from a neighbour’s phone.
