LAHORE – Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, will represent the province at the COP30 environmental conference in Brazil, which will commence on 10 November and continue until 21 November. CM Maryam will be accompanied by Senior Provincial Minister Maryam Aurangzeb. At the conference, CM Maryam will present Punjab’s environmental vision “Waste to Value, Vision to Global Action”, showcasing the provincial government’s achievements over the past 19 months. She will highlight Punjab’s efforts to promote electric vehicle-based transport, develop a clean and green environment, and combat smog while improving air quality. For the first time, the Chief Minister will outline steps taken to make all sectors of Punjab environmentally friendly. Key initiatives include: Operation of electric buses in 42 cities. Deployment of 120,000 electric motorcycles and rickshaws. Launch of 1,100 electric taxis. Implementation of 10 modern digital rail systems. CM Maryam Nawaz Sharif will also announce Punjab’s vision to meet COP30 environmental standards, emphasizing the province’s commitment to sustainable and green development.
