Controversial NFL legend turns on Donald Trump over Charlie Kirk news

Retired NFL All-Pro wide receiver Antonio Brown recently had some harsh words for President Donald Trump, who Brown has supported publicly since last spring.
Things took a turn Thursday when Brown responded to breaking news from political reporter Eric Daugherty on “X” — “Legislation being filed in the U.S. House to place CHARLIE KIRK on 400,000 silver dollar coins in 2026.”
Brown, who reportedly has left the country due to legal issues in the U.S. responded: “They’re doing literally the dumbest s— you can possibly think of just to avoid releasing the Epstein files,” followed by a crying-laughing emoji.
Brown endorsed Trump during an interview with OutKick’s Nick Adams in May 2024.
Brown has also expressed his support for Trump through memes and other messages on social media.
Additionally, Brown mentioned admiring Trump’s business background and his contributions to figures in the hip-hop industry, citing pardons that Trump has issued.
Brown has been involved in numerous off-the-field incidents during and after his playing days, including multiple arrests and legal battles and disputes with former teammates, partners and trainers. He was arrested for allegedly failing to pay child support and also faced civil contempt charges related to unpaid debts.
Brown has also been accused of battery of a moving truck driver and has faced domestic violence charges.
Brown earned his first All-Pro selection in 2014 and was named to the All-Pro team for four consecutive years, from 2014 to 2017.
However, his turbulent NFL career included being released by three of the five teams he played for (the Raiders, Patriots, and Bucs) due to off-the-field incidents.
A political commentator, Kirk was shot and killed Sept. 10 at a Utah college event in what Gov. Spencer Cox called a political assassination carried out from a rooftop.

Kirk became recognized as one of the most prominent voices of the MAGA movement, and his death has served as a rallying cry for the Republican Party. However, many of Kirk’s critics saw the conservative influencer as divisive, racist and xenophobic.
