Construction technology has advanced over the years, yet many tools still depend on people manually entering site data—an outdated approach that often breaks efficiency. Despite having software for project management, scheduling, quality, and safety, the industry continues to struggle with fragmented and inaccurate data collection. Bengaluru-based SaaS startup Contineu.ai, founded in 2023 by Harshil Naik and Kanal Ramesh, aims to fix that gap through autonomous, camera-powered site intelligence. “These systems relied on people to enter data, but the information was often incomplete or inaccurate, which made it hard to make the right decisions,” Naik, the CEO and Co-founder, says. Naik is an IIT Bombay graduate in Aerospace Engineering, who earlier led autonomy and robotics projects at Airbound. The idea for Contineu came from seeing inefficiencies in his father’s manufacturing business, where project oversight often broke down due to inaccurate on-site reporting. Along with his co-founder, Ramesh, who had worked in Europe’s construction tech space. The startup, in December 2023, raised $1.2 million in seed funding from Entrepreneur First, Ventures, and Piper Serica Angel Fund. Autonomous site intelligence Contineu.ai offers a B2B SaaS platform that automates construction site monitoring using magnet-mounted 360-degree cameras and advanced AI. These cameras continuously scan project sites, and the platform’s algorithms extract visual data to detect defects, assess progress, and flag quality issues—all without manual data entry. The product works on a subscription model, priced between Rs 8 and Rs 10 per square foot per year, depending on the project size. For example, a 10 lakh square-foot project would be billed annually based on the scanned area. The system provides site managers with a visual dashboard of insights, replacing subjective field reports with objective, data-driven decisions. So far, Contineu.ai has partnered with nine enterprise clients, including MTM Smart World, Primark Projects, and CBRE, with several others under NDA. The company has generated revenue in the Rs 25 lakh range, primarily from proof-of-concept deployments. From ideation to launch Initially, Contineu.ai explored infrastructure applications such as highways and metro projects. However, the team soon realised that collecting data in these areas was difficult and decided to focus on commercial and residential buildings, where the problems were easier to solve and companies were more open to using new technology. Within six months, the startup moved from concept to market-ready product, officially launching its platform in mid-2024. Continue.ai sees competition from other software startups, but also from traditional project management consultancies like JLL, CBRE, and Cushman & Wakefield, which charge between Rs 50 and Rs 75 per square foot per year for manual quality and inspection services. Naik says, “We’re offering the same outcomes, or better, at one-fifth the cost, and without human dependency.” According to the Fortune Business Insights report, the global construction software market size was valued at around $9.87 billion in 2024. It is projected to grow to about $10.76 billion in 2025 and further expand to $21.04 billion by 2032, growing at a CAGR of about 10.1% during this period. Contineu.ai estimates a potential Rs 500 crore addressable market in India alone. Growth and future plans The 30-member Contineu team is currently scaling operations across Indian sites while preparing for international expansion. The team is in talks for pilot deployments with design partners, marking its first step towards global expansion. Product-wise, the startup has planned two major updates—one in November 2025 and another in January 2026—incorporating client feedback and expanding functionality across safety and materials management.
