Nearly all of the 12 locally acquired measles cases that have been discovered in recent weeks have been traced back to a single overseas incursion into Northland from September. Dr Matthew Reid, a public health medicine specialist at the National Public Health Service, told Newsroom a case associated with the Northland outbreak travelled to the South Island earlier this month. That travel included the Bluebridge ferry on October 3, which has spawned seven of the 10 locally acquired cases.
