The legendary Bas Rutten shared a video on Instagram two days ago, showing off some sharp shadow boxing combinations. For a moment, fans thought the former heavyweight champ was teasing a comeback against another legendary fighter. But it turned out ‘El Guapo’ was actually promoting his new audio workout series, which is a modern revival of his 2003 classic, Bas Rutten’s Lethal Street Fighting. However, as the Dutch-American champ earned praise for reviving his old self-defense series, fans couldn’t take their eyes off his amazing physique. Looking back, Rutten defeated Kevin Randleman at UFC 20 in 1999 when he was just 34 years old. And now, in 2025, at 60, he still maintains that ripped frame. Back in February 2019, Conor McGregor visited and trained at Bas Rutten’s gym, and later wrote and lengthy caption about it in an Instagram post. “Behind us is the original UFC heavyweight belt that Bas won. Becoming the first European MMA fighter to win a UFC title. To this day there have only been 5 European UFC champions. Bas also secured his nations flag Holland, on the new design UFC belt with this win, as Holland was one of the first 8th countries to birth a UFC world champion,” he had written at the time.
