Conjoined twins discuss sex life after one married her boyfriend

Conjoined twins Carmen and Lupita Andrade are opening up about the intimate details of how their lives transformed following Carmen’s wedding to her long-term boyfriend, Daniel McCormack. Carmen walked down the aisle in October 2024, after a romance that kicked off in 2020 when the pair connected through dating app Hinge. The sisters, 25, are joined at the torso and share reproductive organs alongside other internal anatomy, which makes their living situation more complex than many people might imagine. Carmen reveals she treasures her marriage enormously, explaining that Daniel’s respect for her as an individual sets him apart from how others have approached her previously. Daniel, 28, has also hit back at those who question their arrangement, stating: “People are obsessed with sex, you know? And it’s just like, frankly, it’s none of your f—— business.” The sisters, who were born in Mexico before being brought up in America, have successfully navigated making their relationship arrangement function for everyone involved. Lupita backs Carmen’s romance, explaining her connection with Daniel feels “like a brother”, reports the Mirror . “We eloped in October with our families,” Carmen revealed to People, sharing details of the private ceremony held on Lover’s Leap Bridge in New Milford, Connecticut, where she beamed whilst displaying her wedding ring in a YouTube video. Lupita confirmed, “I don’t want to get married,” making it clear that whilst her twin sister has now wed, she personally harbours no intentions or wish to pursue romantic commitment. The twins have opened up about the constant assumptions they face from strangers, including intrusive questions about pregnancy, sexuality, intimacy, and whether they share a partner. They clarified that just because they share reproductive organs, it doesn’t mean they must share a romantic or sexual life, or that one twin’s marriage implies the other’s. Carmen revealed that the medical community has been reluctant to provide treatments for conditions like endometriosis due to their conjoined anatomy. Despite these challenges and public curiosity, Carmen and Lupita have collectively decided that Carmen will pursue marriage and legal documentation as a spouse, while Lupita will not. They further explained that Carmen and Daniel’s relationship is not sexually intimate in the way many expect, and that their bond with him is based on friendship, love, and mutual respect. Physically, they share certain organs – such as the pelvis and reproductive system – but have separate hearts, lungs, and stomachs. Health issues are part of their daily life; Carmen has been diagnosed with endometriosis, a condition that affects both twins, and they have sought medical care where possible, despite doctors sometimes being cautious due to their anatomy. The twins also make a living by sharing their lives on social media and collaborating with brands.
