Complaint against BRS alleged election rule breaches in Jubilee Hills by-poll

The Congress has lodged a complaint against the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) for allegedly violating election rules by campaigning in their ‘own newspapers’ in the Jubilee Hills by-election. Chairman of TPCC Media and Communications, Sama Ram Mohan Reddy, has submitted a written complaint to District Election Officer R. V. Karnan. He said that BRS had been publishing ‘campaign news items’ in their affiliated media outlets, which is a breach of the Media Certification and Monitoring Committee (MCMC) rules. He also alleged that these outlets are not publishing news reports of the other parties. He said that this act should be considered as an expense of the BRS candidate and demands action against them. Mr. Reddy accused the BRS of disregarding media values and violating the Election Commission’s rules and regulations. The party has demanded that strict action be taken against the BRS candidate for these alleged violations.
