Community at Work Job Fair will feature panel on tips for getting hired, the job search process and interview advice

The Community at Work Job Fair, presented by CareerBridge IT Solutions, focuses on accessibility and inclusion offering adults with diverse abilities the opportunity to meet with inclusive local employers. The event, held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursday, October 16, 2025, will take place at CNY Works, located at 960 James St. in Syracuse.
Job seekers will be able to explore industries, learn about positions and network with actively hiring companies. Employers participating in the event can demonstrate their commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion while accessing motivated talent to strengthen their workforce. Participation is free for both job seekers and employers.
While the fair is tailored for adults with diverse intellectual and physical abilities, experiences or access needs, all community members are welcome. The goal of this event is to empower people by connecting them with employers who are eager to build diverse and inclusive teams, ultimately fostering confidence for both initial employment and long-term professional growth.
The event kicks off with a panel moderated by the hosts of “Enable: The Disability Podcast.” Panelists will discuss real life tips for getting hired, navigating the job search process and interview advice from employers with open positions.
Panelists and moderators include:
Kelly Burkett – Local Workforce Development and Business Relations Representative, ACCES-VR
Matthew DePrimo – Owner and CEO, CareerBridge IT Solutions
David Devendorf – Director of Employment, AccessCNY
Geoff “DeafGeoff” Herbert – Co-host, Enable: The Disability Podcast
Kurt Hower – Co-host, Enable: The Disability Podcast

“This job fair is about more than just filling positions; it’s about making our business community even stronger and more vibrant,” said Lindsay Marlenga, senior director of marketing at syracuse.com | The Post-Standard, which has partnered with CNY Works to present The Community at Work Job Fair.
