Commanders pleased with Chargers win, hoping to build on performance going forward

Those victory Monday vibes are all across our region.
The Washington Commanders put a lot of smiles on faces with their big, comeback road win against the L.A. Chargers.
Another slow start, but remember it’s not how you start, but how you finish.
The Commanders took a sledgehammer to the Chargers, scoring 27 unanswered points while not allowing another point after the first quarter.

They played inspired. They played physical. They looked like the team that made it to last year’s NFC Championship game.
7News Sports Director Scott Abraham asked Washington head coach Dan Quinn about his team’s bound back performance.
“We want that to look like that all the time. And sometimes, like yesterday, I took that play of Quan, he was the one that set it off yesterday,” Quinn told Abraham.
“But there is an attitude and a speed that we want to play with. Doesn’t mean we’re always going to play it perfectly or play it just right but there’s an intensity about how we play and when we’re at our best. There’s also a joy that goes with it. I think I saw that with Jayden as well. Here he is smiling as he’s going through it, battling, but also this is a crew that they’re connected, man.”
“And so, to see these guys want to fight for one another and get it right, that’s a really important piece. So, we’ll have a work cut out for us, but you’re leaning into the right things about our attitude, our effort, the way we play and when we’re that connected, we’re a problem and we’re going to continue to work hard at that and really protect that.”
As far as injury updates, Quinn said he’s “optimistic” about Terry McLaurin returning for the Bears game. He also noted that Sam Cosmi and Noah Brown are trending in the right direction as well.
