COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - On Wednesday, South Carolina-based rapper Blacc Zacc was arrested on multiple charges, including RICO Conspiracy and Murder in Aid of Racketeering. According to court records, 34-year-old Zachary Chapman, known by his rapper name Blacc Zacc, was arrested by U.S. Marshals on Wednesday afternoon and has been booked in a federal prison in Spartanburg In a 22-page indictment, prosecutors allege Champman was the founder and leader of Dirty Money Entertainment (DME), a street gang based in South Carolina. As the leader of the gang, the indictment claims Chapman directed all DME activities while sometimes delegating authority to other members and associates with other responsibilities. The indictment claims DME operated out of Columbia, but owned several houses, including a house in Blythewood, where they held many of the operations. Many of the charges stem from a murder-for-hire plot in Colombia in 2021 that prosecutors say Chapman orchestrated, after a rival gang member stole a diamond chain. Chapman faces multiple charges: RICO Conspiracy Attempted Murder in Aid of Racketeering Two counts of Use, Carry, and Discharge of a Firearm During and In Relation to a Crime of Violence Conspiracy to Commit Murder in Aid of Racketeering Murder in Aid of Racketeering Use of Interstate Commerce Facilities in the Commission of Murder-for-Hire Causing Death Through Use of a Firearm Conspiracy to Interfere with Commerce by Threats or Violence Chapman came before a federal magistrate on Wednesday, pleaded not guilty, and his detention hearing is scheduled for Monday in Greenville.
