Colts QB Daniel Jones Gets Good News After Blockbuster Trade

Daniel Jones is coming off of his worst game as the starting quarterback of the Indianapolis Colts after turning the ball over five times against the Pittsburgh Steelers in a 27-20 defeat. Jones threw three interceptions while fumbling the ball three times - losing two - as Indianapolis picked up its second loss of the season. After struggling against what had been a porous Steelers defense, the former New York Giants quarterback made it clear he believes the best is ahead for Indianapolis. "I think we got mature guys in the room," Jones said. "I'm sure we'll be eager to correct the things that we didn't do as well. But as far as our confidence level or who we believe we are as a team, I think that's strong and we're sure of that, we're sure of who we are and we understand if you turn the ball over, that's gonna happen. Protect it, and things have gone well for us." Indianapolis shipped two first-round picks to New York in an effort to make the deal for the former No. 4 overall pick. Not long after the dust settled, Colts beat writer Zak Keefer revealed his belief that the trade is good news for Jones. "Another layer to this Colts' trade: you don't give up 1st-round picks each of the next two years if you think you're gonna be in the market for a QB. This indicates ownership/Ballard/Steichen are sold on Daniel Jones moving forward," Keefer said. Jones leads the NFL in passing through the first nine games of the season with 2,404 yards and is completing over 70% of his passes. He's accounted for 19 total touchdowns, 14 through the air and five on the ground, with just six interceptions - five of which came in two games.
