With Week 11 of the college football season upon us, it officially marks the first release of the College Football Playoff rankings. There are just four Power 4 teams that remain undefeated, which means the battle for the No. 1 spot could be tightly contested. With that being said, the growing consensus around college football is that there is a clear-cut No. 1 team in the Ohio State Buckeyes, who currently hold the No. 1 spot in the AP Poll. The Buckeyes are home to the No. 1 defense in college football, allowing just six touchdowns all season long. Offensively, they rank No. 30 in total offense, and have Heisman frontrunner Julian Sayin at quarterback. Being that they are likely college football’s most complete team, it shouldn’t be shocking that sports trading company Kalshi has them as the “overwhelming favorites on the season. As indicated in the post, Ohio State is the clear favorite to win both the Big Ten Championship and the national title. The next closest team for both categories is likely the foe they will run into during the Big Ten title game in the No. 2 Indiana Hoosiers (9-0). If Ohio State were to win it all, they’d be the second team since Georgia in 2021-22 to repeat as champs, as the Buckeyes won the inaugural 12-team College Football Playoff last season. According to ESPN’s FPI, the Buckeyes have a 45.4% chance of winning out, as outside of their regular season finale with rival Michigan (7-2), Ohio State doesn’t have a single team above .500 remaining on the schedule. The next team standing in their way is the Purdue Boilermakers (2-7), who will host the Buckeyes on Saturday in a game that kicks off at 1:00. p.m. ET and will air on the Big Ten Network.
