District Collector Durgamoorthi distributed welfare assistance to beneficiaries at the weekly grievances redress meeting on Monday. At the weekly grievances redress meeting held at the Collectorate here, people from various parts of the district came to submit their petitions. The Collector received petitions from people, including petitions seeking old age pensions, financial assistance for education, free land patta, bank loans, drinking water facilities, road facilities, and street light facilities. The Collector received a total of 546 petitions and directed the officials to address the issues. The Collector, on behalf of the Labour Welfare and Skill Development Department, the Differently Abled Welfare Department, and the District Rural Development Agency, distributed welfare assistance to 15 beneficiaries, including ₹1 lakh subsidy for buying an autorickshaw, ₹2.50 lakh financial assistance for five students to pursue medical education, and tricycles, at a total cost of ₹3.97 lakh. The Collector also distributed job orders for five persons on compensatory grounds. Similarly, the Collector also distributed a shield for Cooperative Societies’ Joint Registrar Arularasu for conducting many blood donation camps to aid Namakkal Government Medical College Hospital. In the meeting, District Revenue Officer Saravanan among other officials participated.
